Welcome to School of Artificial Intelligence (SAI), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen!

Artificial intelligence is not only a powerful tool driving industrial transformation, but also a profound revolution in the history of human tools. School of Artificial Intelligence is dedicated to addressing critical global strategic challenges by advancing pioneering international research in the field of artificial intelligence, and fostering the development of AI technologies with broad societal implications.

Grounded in the strategic framework of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the school capitalizes on Shenzhen's industrial strengths as a special economic zone and draws upon the robust academic foundation of CUHK-Shenzhen to establish an innovative interdisciplinary educational system.  School of Artificial Intelligence establishes a solid scientific foundation for students in fields, such as Intelligent Computing, Cognitive Science, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI, AI Ethics and Embodied Intelligence, and aspiring to become a global leader in the AI discipline.

SAI is distinguished by an exceptional faculty comprised of leading international scholars, whose academic expertise encompasses a diverse range of advanced and innovative fields. The school established a comprehensive talent cultivation system covering undergraduate, postgraduate programmes. The applications of our courses widely involve important fields such as Healthcare, Business and Economics, Scientific Research, Engineering Technology, Medical Innovation, and Social Sciences, with equal emphasis on theoretical depth and practical ability development.

In the realm of scientific research, SAI has established several key provincial and municipal platforms, such as the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Body Surface Generalized Perception and Pattern Analysis, the Guangdong Pearl River Talent Program’s "Brain-inspired Audition" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team, and the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Cross-modal Cognitive Computing. Furthermore, SAI has developed sustained and stable collaborative research partnerships with leading global universities, aiming to attain significant breakthroughs with international impact.

The transformation brought by AI to production and daily life is comparable to the invention of electricity in the 19th century. Analogous to how the invention of the electric light bulb merely marked the inception of a new era of illumination, contemporary Large Language Models represent only an initial validation of the extensive potential inherent in artificial intelligence. Its potential in advancing scientific research and driving technological innovation are poised to surpass present-day expectations significantly.
